The Dining Diva Discoveries– first bites…..

The Dining Diva discovered a delightful Northern Italian restaurant,  Il Tiramisu in Sherman Oaks. It’s been there for at least 10 years but we tried it for the first time last night. What a find.  A friendly neighborhood Italian eatery oozing with ambiance and rich aromas of old world cuisine.  The host greeted us with a big smile like we were regulars he’d known for ever. Our adorable waiter bore a welcoming smile and happily handled our food and wine–both of which matched the mood.
I had the veal rib special. Tender, fall off the bone meat on pasta with an exceptional red sauce.
My Caesar salad was one of the best I’ve had in ages, it was actually perfectly dressed with crispy romaine and top quality parmesan cheese. Richard had the heirloom tomato salad, while the tomatoes were touted organic, they weren’t ripe enough (our only complaint) but his sword fish was divine.  We had a bottle of Monterrey Chard, but skipped coffee and dessert, too full from the fare and the exceptional breads and olive oil served with the meal.

A little New York, a little Italy, the room is attractive and welcomingil tiramisu with a tiny bar and an open kitchen viewable when you walk by on the way to the restrooms. The place was filled with young and old all obviously enjoying themselves.
It’s a must go. And we plan to return often, maybe even weekly.
